ABOUT US
The Asociación Latina in the Philippines is a non-profit organization, without shares in the stock market and duly registered, whose members are united by the Spanish language and the desire to be at the service of the Spanish-speaking community and the local community. The organization was founded on January 18, 1966, by a group of women from Latin American countries residing in Manila.
The original purpose of the association was to offer a source of information, friendship, and support to women from Latin American countries who came to the Philippines. However, as time passed, the objective was broadened to reach all Spanish-speaking people residing in the country. During the organization's early years, a second purpose emerged, the desire to gather strength to assist poor Filipinos.
Our purpose has evolved and has resulted in the willingness to fund social investment opportunities presented to the association by other recognized non-governmental organizations (NGOs). These projects are selected annually based on the recommendation of the Social Projects Committee, for final approval by the Administrative Board and the Supervisory Council.
MISSION
Provide support to our Spanish-speaking and enable members to contribute resources and assistance to low-income Filipino communities.
VISION
Build a Spanish speaking organization in the Philippines that makes a positive impact in the local community.
